Sign up for our Autumn Show!

It's time to prepare for MPYT's big show at the Wyeside: The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night Time. Here's all the info you need to know to get involved.

Time commitment:

Tuesdays througout the summer term: 7-9pm
Theatre Summer School: 4-8th August
Rehearsals (Sept–Nov):

  • Tuesday evenings: Sept 2, 9, 16, 23, Oct 7, 14, 21
  • Saturdays: Sept 6, 13, 20, 27, Oct 4, 11, 18
  • Autumn half term (full availability required): Oct 25 – Nov 1
  • Technical & Dress Rehearsals: Friday 31 Oct – Tues 4 Nov
  • Live Performances: Wed 5 – Sat 8 Nov (including matinee and anticipated schools’ performance)

Backstage roles like photography, film, or costume design may have more flexible hours, but still require commitment and reliability.

This is hard work — but the kind that makes you proud, connected, and energised. It may make you question the meaning of the word. You’ll make great friends, grow in confidence, and create memories that last a lifetime.

Cost:

We’re committed to making this opportunity accessible to all.

  • Membership is £60 for summer and autumn
  • We’ll help you plan around public transport, and many families already carpool

If cost or travel are barriers — don’t let that stop you. Apply for a full or partial bursary below.

Ability:

MPYT never auditions. If you want to be involved, there’s a place for you.

We are committed to creating a space where everyone is welcome, and where you can discover what you’re good at, what you love, and how you can grow. We do cast larger roles based on experience, availability, interest, and commitment, but smaller roles are vital to making the production sing.

These productions give young people an opportunity to work out and discuss their opinions and feelings about their place in their world and for that we need diverse experiences and perspectives...not just the bravest or 'best'  actors.
