Mid Wales Mythology

This summer, MPYT was approached to create a piece of drama/storytelling to perform to the passengers of the luxury Belmond Train on its jourmey though on the Heart of Wales line.

Kama, MPYT's producer, and Melody, MPYT's co-ordinator, set out to create a short performance summing up Mid Wales. Drawing from mythology from the mabinogion, and well-loved poets and diarists like George Borrow and Francis Kilburn, they made and performed a beautiful woven tapestry of the past, present and future of Mid Wales. 

Peformances took place in MOMA Machynlleth throughout August and September, for small audiences from all over the UK and rest of the world! Visitors from New York, The Netherlands, London and more came to learn about Mid Wales' little-known rich history.

This was a wonderful experience which will hopefully turn into a lasting relationship and annual tradition with Belmond Trains.
